Account & Data Deletion — Broom
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This page explains how to delete your Broom account and the data associated with it. It applies to the Broom mobile app published on Google Play and the App Store by GURZ LTD (trading as Broom).
If anything here conflicts with our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy governs.
Option 1 — Delete your account from inside the app (recommended)
- Open the Broom app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Account settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review the summary of what will be removed, then tap Delete my account.
- Enter the one-time code (OTP) we email to your registered address to confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and enters a 30-day recovery window. If you sign back in within 30 days you can cancel the deletion. After 30 days the deletion becomes permanent and is processed as described below.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email support@beclairiz.com from the email address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account". We may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed. We respond within the period required by law (generally 30 days; 45 days for US state privacy requests).
What is deleted
When the deletion is processed we delete or irreversibly anonymise:
- your profile, name, email, phone number, gender and profile photo;
- your saved addresses and location data;
- your saved payment methods (card details are held by our payment processor, Stripe — see below);
- your bookings/jobs history as personally identifiable to you;
- your chat messages and message attachments;
- your ratings, reviews and preferences;
- for service providers: KYC/identity-verification data and payout setup, subject to the legal retention requirement below;
- push notification tokens and device identifiers.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records are retained after account deletion where the law requires it or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Where retained, they are minimised and access-restricted:
| Data | Retention after deletion | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Account & profile data | Deleted or anonymised within 90 days | Operational wind-down |
| Booking, payment and payout records | 6 years | UK tax, accounting, anti-fraud, dispute resolution |
| KYC / identity-verification records (providers) | Period required by law and our verification provider, typically up to 7 years | Anti-money-laundering / regulatory |
| Chat and support messages | Up to 24 months, then deleted | Safety and dispute resolution |
| Diagnostic / security logs | Up to 90 days | Security |
Payment data: card numbers are stored by Stripe, not by Broom. Deleting your Broom account does not by itself delete records held by Stripe; Stripe retains transaction data under its own privacy policy and financial-regulation obligations.
